In celebration of its 70th anniversary, the Stickel Foundation conceived a contest to create graphic poster projects – POSTER CONTEST: ART TRANSFORMS. The contest was curated by graphic designer, architect, and professor Carlos Perrone, along with several qualified jurors from the field of graphic design.

Este foi o Cartaz Aquisição, ou seja, o cartaz vencedor do concurso, que foi exposto em destaque na galeria da Fundação Stickel em comemoração aos seus 70 anos de existência.

Quando olhamos para o cartaz, observamos a dança ousada entre a arte e a transformação, guiados pela paleta tropical de cores e pela simetria que brinca de esconde-esconde.
No epicentro dele, a letra A assume o papel de um artista com pincéis afiados, cortando a matéria da natureza como um chef criativo na cozinha, revelando novas formas, aromas, cores, sons. É quase como se a arte fosse a receita secreta que transforma a banalidade em uma explosão sensorial.
Há também a quebra de palavras. Arte-Trans-Forma - um malabarismo concretista-textual que reflete o jogo intrigante da arte contemporânea. Transição, transmutação, transformação - a arte é uma contorcionista linguística que reinventa objetos, ideias e símbolos.
O cartaz dança horizontalmente da ARTE para a FORMA, jogando com cores que se invertem como acrobatas em um espetáculo visual. O centro o TRANSforma, é o ponto da virada, onde as regras do jogo se invertem, as cores se rebelam, e a fruta se torna a estrela da performance. Uma fruta verticalmente firme, atravessando todas as linhas horizontais, uma testemunha suculenta da transformação em ação.
As cores vibrantes, tropicais como um dia de sol, sussurram o aroma da natureza, transportando-nos para um Brasil sensorial. O cartaz é uma celebração à brasilidade, um convite para que os artistas se vejam refletidos na dança desse espetáculo tropical.
Que cada traço seja um brinde aos artistas, uma homenagem à sua capacidade de transformar o trivial em mágico. Aristóteles dizia que a arte imita a natureza. Este cartaz é mais do que uma imitação da natureza; é um eco da essência do artista, uma festa para os sentidos e um convite para todos mergulharem na mágica que é a arte transformadora.

When we look at the poster, we observe the bold dance between art and transformation, guided by the tropical color palette and the symmetry that plays hide-and-seek.
At its epicenter, the letter A takes on the role of an artist with sharp brushes, cutting through the matter of nature like a creative chef in the kitchen, revealing new forms, aromas, colors, sounds. It's almost as if art were the secret recipe that turns banality into a sensory explosion.
There's also the breaking of words. Art-Trans-Forms - a concrete-textual juggling act that reflects the intriguing play of contemporary art. Transition, transmutation, transformation - art is a linguistic contortionist that reinvents objects, ideas, and symbols.
The poster horizontally dances from ART to FORM, playing with colors that reverse like acrobats in a visual spectacle. The center transforms, it's the turning point, where the rules of the game reverse, colors rebel, and the fruit becomes the star of the performance. A vertically firm fruit, crossing all horizontal lines, a juicy witness of transformation in action.
The vibrant, tropical colors like a sunny day, whisper the aroma of nature, transporting us to a sensory Brazil. The poster is a celebration of Brazilianness, an invitation for artists to see themselves reflected in the dance of this tropical spectacle.
May each stroke be a toast to the artists, a tribute to their ability to turn the mundane into magic. Aristotle said that art imitates nature. This poster is more than an imitation of nature; it's an echo of the artist's essence, a feast for the senses, and an invitation for all to dive into the magic that is transformative art.

Com o tema ARTE TRANSFORMA, o objetivo final do concurso era montar uma mostra de design gráfico com os cartazes produzidos, prevista para o início de 2024. A exposição prestigiou este importante meio de comunicação que é o cartaz, fundamental para a cena cultural das metrópoles ao trazer imagens, tipografias e caligrafias que impactam o espaço urbano, tornando públicas as linguagens visuais contemporâneas.

With the theme ART TRANSFORMS, the ultimate goal of the contest was to assemble an exhibition of graphic design featuring the produced posters, scheduled for early 2024. The exhibition honored this important means of communication, the poster, which is essential to the cultural scene of metropolises by bringing images, typography, and calligraphy that impact urban spaces, making contemporary visual languages public.
